Description

Smoking at & around Bus Stops.

Most public buildings do not allow smoking. Why do we continue to allow smoking at public bus stops. I have been taking the bus for a year & 1/2 now and have found that there is a large number of people who will smoke in bus stop shelters, just outside of the shelters, within 50 feet of a shelter. Any of these scenarios means that the people waiting at the bus stop are forced to breath in that wondering smoke. I have always been very sensitive to cigarette smoke. It causes an allergic reaction, but I also know that second hand smoke is not good for my health. I am now pregnant and find myself walking another block and a half to catch the bus at a stop where there is no shelter and very few people congregate with cigarettes. Please help to make this a city wide smoking ban at bus stops and the surrounding area. VOTE!
