I have heard we are going through reeval, but we haven't been notified and I think a letter should go out so we know that these people are legitimate. Kind of disturbing to hear that City Hall doesn't know if they were called! If that is the case I am not talking to them without being told prior by City hall as it should be!

They should be bringing the values down then as all the houses have gone down in value. So how will they make up for that I would like to know?

I think in some way they should notify people as they have gone some doors I heard and the women don't want to open the doors. Newspaper or website or something

Soooo if I'm not home do they just do it from the outside? Like someone has previously stated if I'm not notified by the City I'm not letting a random person with I.D or not come into my home. I saw a car marked "assessor" driving around Mead School on Saturday..

According to the mayors office about one month ago when they came into my area and wanted to do my house we were tye beginning of the re eval. Supposedly it was in the paper but I never saw it and I told tyem not everyone gets the paper itbshould have been sent with the sewer use bills as they were sent out to us shortly before this man went around to do re eval also as far as them not coming onto yur home they then judge yur home off of tye rateings/price of highest of others in yur neighborhood. As I said yesterday the city is hooking/hooked up to some emergency alert system which we residents are supposed to register on so we can be notified of an emergency I say the valley inde on the internet is plenty good if the city passes info to them to post in turn the city should have twitter and orntext for each dept so we have better communication to who ever when ever. Something like this comes up just my opinion I was also told by the people doing the re eval the other number to call to verify this is legit is the ans police and they were giving out the same response of I don't know anything about re eval I find that to be crazy wrong as im certain they were all tols about the re eval and I would think anyone working for the city especially in city hall would be told or have heard about the reval. Seems to me lots of people are getting paid to do a job who are not qualified they work for us and are supposed to help make life a bit easier as far as understanding the city.

They will do what they always do. They will reduce the appraisel on the home and raise they mill rate so we don't ever get a break. They get you one way or the other. The city is never taking the loss

A public forum is the perfect place to ask questions. What are they hiding?

This is a public forum to notify regarding physical problems that need repair. It is not a discussion site for evaluation or political complaints.

Then ignore it. It is a problem that needs fixing. A question asked that needed to be answered. No one is making it political unless someone feels guilty. Don't read it unless you know why there are strangers looking in yards. I want it fixed so Planner why do you hide

Then go to city hall and get an answer. Go to the Valley Indy or Register or Post to air your complaint. This site is intended for infrastructure fixes. The main reason not to post here is that your complaint likely won't get to the right person. Second, if this site becomes a place to lodge political and other types of issues, then it will become less useful to its intended audience.

PLANNER. Maybe its just me but you seem to be the one making this matter political. As far as reaching the corrrect person I thought that's wat this site was about.. wow. I see nothing wrong with anyone posting on this sight about the wrong doings in the tax office I only hope it reaches out to those who received the favors as well as to those who gave the favors

Planner should do their job and not worry about what the posts are unless you are part of a problem or under investigation.

For some reason planner keeps closing the issue because they are afraid of something. We ask a simple question and they don't like it. This is a public forum and as long as you are not being cruel you should be able to find out why someone is looking in your yard

The only thing that I'm afraid of is that you don't understand how revaluation works.
I closed the issue because it is not a topic appropriate for a site to track, report and fix infrastructure issues. Those of us who use this site to track roadway, traffic and other transportation related issues so that we may identify the ones we don't catch and bring them to the attention of each city, find off-topic issues and other complaint style discussions a detriment to finding and dealing with the issues this site is meant to provide a venue for.
Fear not, I will not close this discussion again. The three or four of you may continue to talk about it as you wish. But again I would suggest that you take this up with the proper city officials. I think you'll get a better response that way. I doubt that the assessor is looking at seeclickfix to identify concerns people have with revaluation.
It is just not realistic to expect a solution by raising that issue here.
