We live around the corner from this CONSTANT mess. The out-of-town landlord needs to be contacted and advised this is NOT acceptable, and charge him a hefty fine. Last week it was mountains of privet and other yard debris which bleed out into the street to make it a half a lane going one way. Very dangerous in the fog, rain, and for walkers. Calling the landlord does no good!!!

Well, I still have a clear view of the dumpster, which, no doubt, will be overflowing next time another tenant leaves. I would like to know why the city fails to enforce an ordinance passed by the city's government. The ordinance was spearheaded by Councilman Bill Kling and approved unanimously by the council and signed by the mayor. So what has happened? Was the measure rescinded? If not, then the apartments owner(s) is in violation and should be instructed to screen the bin. When this is done, then, the issue can be closed. I assure you, whoever reads this, if this bin were right in front of your eyes every day, you would not be happy.

I drive or walk by there every day and am appalled the garbage conditions existing on that rental property. Suggest Ms. French contact the mayor's office posthaste to get some kind of permanent resolution for this Monte Sano eyesore. C. McCanless.

Guess what!! There is another dump at the apartments on Belcrest Drive on monte Sano. Unless the city takes some legal action, the owners and tenants will continue to dump old furnitures, plastic bags, etc. An apartment has been emptied and an old, beaten up sofa, several large black plastic bags and garbage are now on the street. As I said, this happens almost every time a tenant vacates an apartment.

Today, May 1, 2016, a huge pile of furniture and other assorted thrash was dumped again at the corner of Monte Sano Blvd. at the Belcrest Apartments. A week ago old rotten wood was dumped and is now graced by garbage bags. The new apartment owner can be contacted at 256. 534.8188 per the for rent sign in front of the apartment complex. A city inspector needs to issue a citation,with a hefty fine, require the owner remove the junk, and then the city needs to keep tabs on this nuisance on Monte Sano mtn. We as neighbors have no way of solving this problem, so city please get to work. If there is no resolution within 10 days I will be contacting Mayor Battle and it will not be pretty, Christel McCanless

Yesterday (5/2/16), the Sanitation Department picked up the trash piles as a courtesy to help give some relief to the community while the issue is being resolved. Thank you!

We have made our Community Code Enforcement Officer aware of this location and situation. He will from this point forward include this location in his weekly routine to monitor compliance with the city code or take appropriate action.
