Description

Ashford Center Parkway is a divided 4-lane. When approaching Chamblee-Dunwoody from the West, the left lane becomes a left turn only lane. The only notification the drive gets is about 50 feet before the intersection with an arrow painted on the pavement. Because the right lane gets backed up before this arrow, drivers in the left lane do not have adequate time and distance to change lanes if they do not intend to turn left. Quite often, they try to go straight on Womack from the left lane squeezing two lanes into the one right lane. What is needed are more signs further away from the intersection (200 or 300 feet), either overhead or on posts, to notify the driver that he is in a left turn only lane.
