The flashing lights have been replaced by stop signs. I travel this road everyday and honestly the stop signs work better than the traffic lights. I watch people breeze right thru the red lights when I have a green light. You just can't fix stupid.

I'd rather have flashing red and yellow. As I travel through downtown Ansonia each day I am constantly stopped for red lights to let imaginary traffic from side streets pass. The worst example is the light at Bank of America which seems to have no sensor to detect when someone wishes to exit the bank and just turns red stopping main street at all hours every 45 seconds of so. Similar happens all the way down. Main Street goes red, no cars waiting on the side streets. What does this do??? Cause traffic to use the road past Fitzpatrick's or on the other side of the river to get around the annoying stops for no reason. Great for downtown merchants!
