Description
Ossington condos and the developer Reserve Properties have attracted citywide attention. The recent application for "109OZ" was preceded by a much smaller project at 41 Ossington: that application was approved in late 2011. The demolition/construction phase has recently begun.
It has been quite disastrous for local homeowners. As I write this, a neighbour on Bruce Street just around the corner from that construction site is on my porch. For whatever reason -- perhaps the unsettled geology of the Garrison Creek system, unreasonably forceful construction techniques, or some combination -- my neighbour's house, like others nearby as well as storefronts on Ossington, was, I have heard, dramatically shaken: and as a result of this, my neighbour has stated, significant cracks have appeared in a house that previously did not have any.
What can be done to halt ongoing construction when it is actively harming existing houses?
