Pinellas County “Doing Things for YOU” !
Across from Palm Harbor Library on Nebraska and Sunray Drive, just a block off of US 19. Trees block view of those coming out of Sunray Drive. This is a VERY busy road and hard to get out of development when view is good....harder with trees blocking view....you almost have to pull onto NEbraska Ave. to see.

This issue has not been resolved as of yet. This request has been open for over a month and a half and is still a dangerous issue. It seems like and easy fix to just cut back the trees that are causing the obstruction. Please resolve this issue before someone gets hurt.
The landscaping contributing to the limited sight distance is on private property, and we have to give the property owner time to trim the landscaping.
Motorists are reminded that Florida Statutes allows a driver to stop at the STOP SIGN/Stop Bar to check for pedestrians, and then to pull forward to the curb line to check for oncoming vehicles.
The county has trimmed this area before. the property owner feels it is on county property and has never trimmed it. In order to see to pull out on this busy riad, a driver has to be way beyond the stop sign and into the roadway way too far to be considered safe.
Perhaps the county needs to contact the owner and inform him that the landscaping they feel is on his property is a safety concern. It isn't a problem for him....he has clear view from his driveway onto Nebraska. Since he has lived in this house the county has always done the trimming. That would obviously lead him to believe it is not his responsibility to trim near the road.
We appreciate you contacting the owner to find an acceptable solution to this problem. I feel much safer trying to make a turn onto Nebraska now. THANK YOU!!!
