It boggles my mind why this isn't a four-way stop. Between vehicular and foot traffic and those blasted crepe myrtles, it's a disaster waiting to happen. Same thing goes for the intersection of Bloodworth & Davie.

I tried getting a stop sign at Davie and Haywood...Apparently you have to wait for an accident to happen first. With the groups of motorcycles and music blasting cars going upwards of 45 miles an hour without being able to see whats coming over the hill it will happen soon. What is funny is that you can walk 4 blocks over into Oakwood and there are 4-way stops all over the place.

I have personally seen more than one accident at Martin and Bloodworth and Davie and Bloodworth so maybe something will give.

You're right, J. I was at the Central CAC Meeting when the guy came to get approval for the City to put 4 way stops at every intersection in Oakwood. The people in Oakwood have more influence and money than other citizens in Raleigh. I hope no one gets hurt when the inevitable accidents occur at Bloodworth/Martin and Bloodworth/Davie.

There was a serious accident tonight at the corner of East Martin Street and South Bloodworth Street. It happened just before 7PM.

This is a TERRIBLE intersection. Why in the world are there lights/4-way stops all the way through Oakwood and back down to MLK with the exception of these two intersections (Bloodworth at E. Davie and E. Martin). This is a disaster waiting to happen. I'll give you a solution that doesn't require extensive studies/money - put a 4-way stop sign in for consistency - especially at an intersection that's right next to a school, for goodness sakes.

The City Council approved the installation of stop signs and pavement markings today. Please allow one week for this installation.
