I nearly got hit by a car here one day. Mayer installing a post-and-chain fence along the curb would help?

Last year I was nearly killed here, stepping onto what I thought was a sidewalk, and I live right in the area! I should have known better, having driven and biked that area so many times, but it happened without me thinking. I still think about how close a car shot past me.

This is still not fixed. I drove slowly onto this after a Stop sign (like you would normally do when exiting) thinking it was a sidewalk after parking only to be surprised that I already entered the road and hurried along my way before I got in the way of oncoming traffic. I could easily imagine accidents with cars and pedestrians here.
