Same car again today. 4FM J20

Cars still blocking this intersection.

This car is parked illegally here at this intersection 3 or 4 times a week. They park right in front of the no parking sign. Blocking that intersection makes a real mess for traffic and pedestrians.
Its the same car (4FM J20), same time (around 2:30) and the exact same location. It shouldn't be too difficult to put a ticket on this scofflaw and put a close to this issue.

I want to thank the police for addressing this issue. I read in the newspaper they have spoken to a violator at this intersection. Unfortunately when one leaves another shows up. This one was walking into section today at 2:30

Really causing a mess.

I saw the police last week while I was driving by at this intersection. I was happy to see them taking action against these inconsiderate drivers. It sounded like they only spoke to them and ask them not to park there anymore. It might have made an impact if they were actually written the citation. Either way thanks to the police for keeping are kids safe at this location. Today, Monday is a very busy day at that intersection and most likely there will be more ignorant people parking and causing a safety hazard at that corner. If the police have the time I would appreciate it if they could check it from around 2:30 and 2:50. Thanks again.

Still at it. Maybe a real ticket instead of a nice talking to would get more results.

OK...I give up! Walking back from the school with my 2 kids at 2:43 a police cruiser, the suv, swings wide around this intersection to avoid the ilegaly parked car and keeps going. How about just taking the sign down if you have no intention of enforcing the law.

Beth, Sorry to see your frustration with this issue. I have been following this post, curious to see how it would turn out. I walk to the south school each day with my child and see the same issue. It amazes me how ignorant and rude some people can be when parking their cars. I often wonder why it seems that the police are very hesitant to actually write out a ticket as opposed to just a verbal warning or leaving a notice on the windshield of a car is illegally parked, even though it's perfectly obvious the owner knows that it is. You would think that the town could use the revenue and the public could use the safety benefits of the police taking the effort and time to actually write out a violation.
If someone is inconsiderate enough to cause a safety issue with their parking, than being talked to or receiving just a warning notice will probably not sway them to do the right thing. Unfortunately some people need to be forced to be considerate. It would be great if the police could take up a no tolerance policy for a while and actually write out tickets to get the message out that public safety is important. I look at it as a real slap in the face to the police and a sign of total disrespect for law enforcement. I think it's just a culture where they've gotten away with it so long they figure the police won't bother. In this case it appears they are correct. On the way back from school this weekend I found this warning on the ground. I'm sure whoever ripped it off their windshield and threw it on the ground didn't take it too seriously.
