Description

The roots of a large Linden street tree have heaved the asphalt sidewalk badly in 3 locations in front of the house, the largest heave being 8" above the plane of the adjacent sidewalk. The roots have broken the curb and extend under the porch. The first step is now broken. New Haven Public Works, the City arborist/tree specialists, Parks & Rec and the UI have all been contacted more than once over the course of several months. This is to request the courtesy of a reply from City officials and a plan to remove this tree and install a safe sidewalk and curb condition according to City engineering and detail standards before winter sets in. Additional photos to help assess this condition can be provided upon request.
