I appreciate the City notifying the property owner of the easement but the actual problem (lack of real path) is not yet fixed, so I think the issue should be re-opened.
FYI the owner and apartment complex manager are well aware of the easement; they responded minimally to a prior neighbor-to-neighbor request for path maintenance work (doing a little brush trimming but there is still no path). So I'm not optimistic that this notice will result in a fix.
Perhaps community volunteer trail work is warranted (is that within the rights of the easement)? And/or the City could enter into a maintenance agreement with the owner, which I understand has been done in other similar situations.

Not resolved, it is still not reasonably runnable or stroller-able nor is its location readily evident. Specific issues:
- overhanging trees/brush in several spots
- no evident trail bed on the N or S end
- no sign on S end
- sign on N end poorly located (and rotted out)
- overly side-sloping trail bed on several sections
- width limited to < 15" in several spots (unreasonable for a 10-foot ROW)
I discussed with Island Homestead Apts asst community manager Sam Price (206-842-5811) and he had their maintenance mgr walk the trail with me so I could point out the issues. The maintenance mgr had been under the misimpression that the City had maintenance responsibility for the path. I advised him that my understanding from City staff was that the Apt property owner was responsible for maintaining trail access per the easement agreement. I recommend re-check in 45 days to see if above issues have been addressed.
