Description

The walk sign to cross 26th street is pretty short. This is an extemely busy and dangerous intersection, and the small window of time to begin walking doesn't help. I would also request tragfic enforcement at this intersection. Every single time I am at this intersection, which is twice daily, cars are running red lights, or not stopping for pedestrians in the clearly marked crosswalk. I was almost hit last Thursday, crossing with the walk sign, and then honked at by the driver until I got off the street. Unfortunately, this type of behavior is routine, and people seem to only be getting more aggressive now that there is one less lane due to the new bike lanes (which I very much appreciate). This is directly in front of Abbott Northwestern Hospital, and a block away from Anderson Elementary, and as such, there are a lot of vulnerable pedestrians in this intersection. Please do something before there is an accident.
