I spoke with Alderman Katjana Ballantyne about this briefly the other week. A number of developers are interested, but there are concerns about environmental remediation due to the former dry-cleaners on this site, and that's taking a while to resolve.

Without a building occupying this space, the ground under the sidewalk is just about exposed. On the south side of the property, where it borders a parking lot, there has already been a collapse. Is the sidewalk on Broadway in danger, too?
