Description

The wooden "bridge" over the inlet to the cross-culvert at Eustice and Brookside has again been smashed by a truck and will flood. The City has repaired/replaced this bridge many times. I suggest this time you make a new one by welding legs on a standard inlet grate, with a grille on each end to fit the gutter. This would hold up to truck traffic and would help prevent the regular flooding at this corner. Unlike the current design, when the new gutter grille clogs with leaves, water would still be able to flow up and into the top of the flat grate. Pedestrians could walk on the flat grate surface too, to use it as a bridge. Might also be a pipe capacity issue in the heaviest rains, but a proper inlet would fix most of the problems and would make it easier to clean when clogged.
