Description

The alley that runs the length of the 1700-1800 blocks of W. Leigh St. is the only access to the residents' off-street parking at the rear of each house on both sides (there is practically no on-street parking for most of this stretch.) This alley is also heavily used as a shortcut by students and parents dropping students at the Governor's School at the other end of the block. With so many cars coming in and out of the alley entrance at Dineen, visibility is an important issue, as is trying to make the tight turn out of the alley if another car is waiting to turn into the alley (Dineen is rather narrow.) Daily, especially during the school year, cars park on Dineen very close to this alley entrance (see attached pic- the dark SUV is there for the day.) We seriously need a "NO PARKING TO CORNER" designation/sign for the space between the alley and intersection with W. Leigh St.
Note: this will not pose an undue hardship on students who park there now.....during the daytime, there is always ample available parking in the 2000 block of Leigh St. beginning about 100ft. from where they are parking now on Dineen.
