Description
Broken Glass in the Bike Lane.
There are many small shards of broken glass in the east-bound bike lane on Poole Road with the greatest concentration between the intersections of Poole with Dallas St and Poole with King Charles Road. These shards are too small to be a problem for car tires, but can easily puncture bike tires. There are so many shards of glass in areas that the bike lane might as well be closed and people on bikes will be forced out into the lane for cars. Please vacuum sweep the bike lane. Broken glass is a constant problem along this stretch of Poole Road.

Closing issue; unfortunately neither Raleigh nor any other city we are aware in NC provides a "vacuum sweep" level of service.

I'm talking about a "Street Sweeper". Some trucks are equipped with just vacuums. Some with just brooms. A "vacuum sweeper" has both. The Town of Chapel Hill has two and uses them often. I pass them during my morning commutes as they are out cleaning the streets. There is a smaller one used in Carrboro. Surely the City of Raleigh has street sweepers!
And as I commuted on the Poole Road bike lane this morning, it was quite evident the lane still needs cleaning.
