Description
i was disgusted & heartbroken to see so much filth & neglect in the city i now call home. i started from the InfoNewhaven booth, picked up 2 huge bags full of rubbish, realized that there weren't any trash cans around; headed westward, finally found a broken, overflowing, lid-less trash can near the V-memorial. please help.

specifically, im reporting the 'water-front' stretch along sargent dr. i will be back to pick up more trash, if the city does nothing about the situation. it would be nice to have proper trash cans where i can deposit the rubbish. this site is like a tumor our fair city, not to mention a huge insult to the nearby memorial for our war heroes --- this would have been a lovely walk along the water. :(

This seems to be a pattern - when you've cut the staff that was once responsible for emptying the trash cans, they just remove the trash cans. It's B.S.

This is true throughout the city.We have a beautiful city but there is a lot of litter and more and more roadside dumping of bulk trash. It does not make sense to take away the trash cans so people throw trash down on the streets and in the bushes at the park.

It's the food vendors and their patrons that leave the mess...I have seen them throw the trash on the ground or leave it on the picnic tables. It is absolutely disgusting when i see the trash left on the memorials. No respect! I have written about this issue many times to no avail. When I wrote about this issue previously, someone posted that one of the truck's owners was an alderman which can explain why nothing is ever done about it.
In addition to the mess, those trucks also create hazardous conditions for pedestrians and drivers - double parking, pull out of the parking lots right in front of traffic, 18-wheelers just parking in the middle of a lane to go and get food...
