This is the overgrown bush at the corner of Malvern and Patterson. It too is overgrown and blocking sight lines. If a car travelling south on Malvern attempts to make a right turn on red, the driver cannot see past this bush. Also, when the traffic light at Malvern and Patterson is inoperable, which happens from time to time, cars attempting to travel through the intersection, cannot see past this overgrown bush. The cars on Malvern are given a yellow flashing light - this does not become a four-way-stop, therefore drivers need a clear view of traffic travelling west on Patterson. This has been reported before and the city closed the issue - and nothing was done to correct the problem.

You really do feel like it's a risky turn every time you make it. Inevitably there's a car coming I couldn't see because of the bushes and I have to change lanes quickly or accelerate rapidly to avoid an issue.

This concern was referred to Code Enforcement by Inspector E. Alexander for their review. Service request closed 9/08/15.

These bushes have NOT BEEN fixed. They look exactly the same. Maybe I should hope they get knocked down by the pending storm?

These bushes are on the city right of way - city property. Code enforcement is not the right department. Seriously? Do they have a hedge trimmer or chain saw, because that's what you need!?

Correction; this request was submitted to the Department of Public Works/Urban Forestry Division and upon inspection by the arborist for this location it was determined that the Code Enforcement Department would be the department that would need to handle this concern.

Thank you for contacting the Property Maintenance Code Enforcement Division for the City of Richmond. Based on the information you provided we have assigned an Environmental Coordinator to go to the location and inspect the property for any and all code violations.

Seriously folks? This is city property. This should be referred to Urban Forestry. Neither of these are in private property. In the time it has taken for the city to shuffle this around from department to department somebody could have gone out with a hedge clipper and cut the bush down. If I had one I would except that this is CITY PROPERTY and the stupid bushes are blocking sight lines. I have now posted this THREE times. And it still hasn't been fixed. No wonder our city is so screwed up.

Still, no one has addressed this problem.

Thank you for bringing this concern to the City of Richmond, Department of Planning and Development Review, however, when the Property Maintenance Code Enforcement Inspector visited the property, it was determined that there are no active code violations found on this property at this time. The Inspector will continue to monitor the situation in the future.
