After several weeks delay, I got a response on this mess in my street, saying that it was too big a pothole and would have to wait until the spring. I'm used to government logic, but you would think that a little asphalt or even gravel as a temporary solution would be simple enough and safer than waiting six months.
As it is, the road there is only wide enough for two lanes, but actually has three. Cars have to use two of the lanes to avoid the hole and it is growing almost daily. Sad and disappointing.

Funny thing. We were fortunate enough to get a temporary patch, which I greatly appreciate, but then the pipe laying crew came through and hit the water main. Now there is a crater down the street. Oh well:)
