Description
This is an ongoing problem on Benehan St at Woodburn Rd. There is a rental house on the corner where (especially) on weekends the cars park along Benehan right up to the street, blocking the sidewalk, the line of sight, and even the intersection. Can the City of Raleigh install "No Parking" signs close to the intersection to make this busy intersection safer? (Similar to those on Park Dr at Woodburn.) Keeping the area around this intersection free of parked vehicles will improve safety. Thanks!

I agree! The cars block the line of sight from drivers turning left onto Woodburn Rd from Benehan St. Even though this intersection is a 4 way stop, not all cars stop at the stop signs on Woodburn Rd. This could easily be resolved with no parking signs for a car length or two on each side of Benehan. The other intersections already have this safety mechanism in place, why not this one?

Here is another picture, same vehicle, next day. Minivan is literally out in the middle of the intersection.

There was once a No Parking sign in front of this house. The other corners of the intersection have No Parking signs, this is the only one that does not. I don't know what happened to it, but it's gone now and the kids cram as many cars along the curb as they can.

I've referred this to our Public Works Department. I will update this issue when I have heard back from them. Thanks for reporting.

Thank you for taking the time to report this concern. Staff has observed missing signage at the northwest corner of this intersection. Work order #295787 has been submitted. Please allow up to a week for the signage to be installed.
