This area has long been one of the biggest hotspots for violent crime in New Haven. There have been well over 5 murders in this general area if you look back a bit farther.
It would be good if the District Manager could respond here on what steps are being taken.
My biggest complaint is that the cops park at the beginning of Munson Street near Science Park, but the violence and the drug dealing happens near the corner market. I don't have an issue with them sitting in the car to take a break but at least be in the middle of the block. Make your presence known. So many addicts walk to Munson to meet their dealers and of course the cops are nowhere to be found.

*Police presence is especially needed considering that there was yet another shooting in this area last night, Tuesday, June 5th on Shelton & Gibbs!
Instead, they sit in the parking lots of Science Park & 344 Winchester - which is right around the corner.
