Description
City of Walnut Creek were informed over 30+ days ago and said it would be fixed. Kerb island was removed and rebuilt exactly same. I have seen two occasions on my commute home a disabled (wheelchair bound) person unable to reach button to cross very busy street.

Spoke with them over a month ago:
"The upgrade to full accessibility is in the works. Like many projects, it is done in phases. What you see right now is a mix of old (the poles and push buttons are the same ones that have been there all along) and new ... poured and shaped concrete that will work in tandem with the upcoming new audible buttons to be fully accessible."
Still nothing. Over 5 weeks these buttons have been inaccessible.

I passed again today. Island with unreachable crossing signal on it has had its kerb painted luminous white. Is someone going to now knock this down to allow the wheelchair access? What a waste of time and money.
There was an old man there today and he had to wait for me to reach him before he could cross the road as he was unable to reach the button.
People in wheelchairs cannot reach the button. It isn't rocket science.
