It seems like the police have more of a zero tolerance attitude ever since people are complaining on every little thing that goes on in the town. I believe that the police department must treat everyone equally.

I think the police do treat everybody equally. But just like the speeder who gets pulled over and given a ticket, complains that everybody else was speeding. It doesn't make it okay for you to break the law. The reality is you can't pull over everybody at the same time. The police can't ticket every parking violation at once. But hopefully if you're disrespectful enough to park on the sidewalk, will get to you. :-)
That's their job and that's what they're paid for.

I think it is long overdue that cars parked on the sidewalk are being ticketed. I applaud the police department for stepping up and keeping the sidewalks clear and safe for pedestrians. Obviously if your car was parked on the sidewalk, your tires were touching the sidewalk. I'm glad you concede to that and should not be surprised that you got a ticket.
A lot of town tax money goes into the sidewalk and there is a proposal now to redo a lot more sidewalks for the safety of pedestrians. They are there for pedestrians, not vehicles.
The police can't be everywhere to ticket every car parked on the sidewalk at once.
Just because other cars are on the sidewalk doesn't make it okay for yours to be.
