Description

RV CA license plate #4PVR503. The homeless people with somewhere between 2-5 dogs stayed the night beside the restrooms at Maxwell Park on August 8th.At bout 10 AM, the dogs got into a fight with a neighbor’s dog that was on leash as she walked by the camper. The neighbor’s dog may have been injured. The blonde woman hastily started up the RV and turned it around, driving up onto the sidewalk in maneuvering the camper and coming close to hitting a car parked opposite. The man followed her on his bicycle. As of 11:45 AM that morning, no OPD officer had responded and no OPD vehicle had come by the area.

From email sent on August 8th: The vehicle showed up late last night (Friday night). This morning at about 9:30 AM, there is a couple in their 50’s at the camper and in the park. I watched the woman (blonde unkempt hair, jeans, blue shirt) get in and out of the camper. There are two dogs inside. Both barking at passersby and from time to time for no apparent reason. The man has taken a bicycle out of the camper and is riding it around the park. He has dark hair and is wearing a white vest over a dark shirt. He is discussing with the woman where he might ride to find something for them to eat. The conversation is loud. OPD non-emergency number called. Dispatcher said an officer would come by.

Report from another neighbor by email on August 11th. "Here are the pics of the camper and the plate number. I walk this way to the AC Transit bus for work in the morning. I took this on the way to the bus this morning. There are often a couple of cars there with folk sleeping in them between Virginia and Walgreens.

Walked by last night and dogs were going a bit crazy. I think there are more than two. Concerned not only about attacking other dogs, but also the kids playing in the park."

Neighbors on Nexdoor Maxwell Park have also commented about the RV and reported it to OPD without result.
