When UI cut those trees down they left that log in the wires. Surely they must have seen it. They came back a couple of days later to pick up all the tree pieces they left behind, but still didn't remove the log in the wires. I don't know if they need a different kind of truck or person to do it since they cut down the trees avoiding live wires. There were too many guys there for one of them not to see it. I saw it right away. They probably haven't sent someone out yet. But it's a UI issue.
The log in the wires is still there despite that UI was here putting up new too-bright street lights all up and down Hemingway St and Quinnipiac St. If there are high winds it could easily fall and people cross the street at that spot which I cleaned up and weeded to clear those paths and make it look nicer.
Log still stuck in a wire. UI told a neighbor that Comcast owned the wire(s) and was responsible to remove the log. It's turning into a game of 'hot potato.' Even the city officials won't help.
Comcast is onsite to replace a bad cable. I spoke to the supervisor to let him know about the log stuck in the wires at Quinnipiac & Hemingway to let him know UI said it was a Comcast issue. He said the log has probably grown into the wire, and would be okay for a couple of years, and shouldn’t fall until it starts rotting. He said he’d take a look at it before they leave today.
A neighbor just informed me that she had spoken to the supervisor after I did. He had taken a look at the log, and told her they would return another day to remove it. If all goes well, it should be removed soon.
