I have address this problem before since there 18 wheeler truck traveling on this road also.

If you're referring to Oakwood Ave from Andrew Jackson to Memorial Parkway, they are working on it now. I saw it start yesterday.

I haven't seen any progress on the West side of Oakwood. The Parkway to Jordan is a complete mess.

Ah I see. I should have clicked the map. East side is being resurfaced now. It was a mess. Im sure West side is horrible as well. Good luck on the pursuit! I know its frustrating.

As stated correctly above, we are in the process (over the next week/ week and a half) of resurfacing Oakwood Ave from Andrew Jackson To Memorial Parkway. The work will be done shortly- weather permitting. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thanks, PWS

With respect, that is simply not good enough. Why isn't the West side, from the Parkway to Jordan being addressed? The road is just as bad, if not worse.

The West side of Oakwood has almost twice the population density as compared to the East side, and has additional stresses like overloaded quarry trucks that use the road.

I challenge anyone to drive up and down the street and then say it's not an issue. It is dangerous, and needs to be addressed. We want to know when ALL of Oakwood will be repaved.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!! repave the West side of Oakwood. It is almost impossible to drive without having to swerve to miss all the potholes. I just recently got an alignment on my vehicle and after two days of going down Oakwood, had knocked it back out. I can not afford to keep paying for alignments over something so simple. I see other streets that are being worked on that are in no way as bad as this one. I can't understand! please look at this road and hear the cry for help!

I drive down Oakwood Avenue and Oakwood Road between Andrew Jackson Way and Sparkman Drive and then on Adventist Avenue (partially newly paved) to and on Johns Road. Paving along the whole distance is a complete disgrace. I have recently (in early August 2015) had to buy new tires on one vehicle and have my front end realigned due mainly because of the effects of disastrous potholes all along the entire route. I beg of you to please repave this entire stretch (that has not been repaved during 2015). The entire length of this road is disastrous to my tires and alignment as any road I have traveled during my more than 70 years of driving in every state within the continental US. Please correct this anomaly (polite wording).

It is more than an embarrassment for homeowners, it is a reflection of the competency of the department and city government handling the issue. You have carved out an entirely new road connecting Oakwood to Pratt on the east side, yet have failed to even begin work on the west side of Oakwood misrepresenting taxpayers monies in that district to help taxpayers in another district. If I am incorrect in this assumption please correct me. You even paved the intersection of Oakwood and Pulaski pike yet (for reasons unknown) diverted resources to finish what you started and take care of the issue of un-drivable roads on the west side. This situation needs to be addressed as soon as possible. I see road works in constant work around our area but something so simple as completing what you start seems to be an impossible task. Having worked for construction I am aware of the abilities of road crews. Not being in city government however puts me at a loss of where the appropriation of funds going and why aren't they being diverted to our area as well? In closing I would just like to ask who is at fault here for as to why this road has not been completed and is there a reason as to lack of completion?

When is the city going to Repave Oakwood Ave??
We don't need patches, we need a new road. From the Parkway to Jordan the road is Nasty. Having to Dodge potholes is not safe.

@PWS, is the western part of Oakwood on the next repaving list?

Drove west on Oakwood from 565 to Jordan, and the section from Pulaski Pike to Jordan isn't that bad. Now, it looked like eastbound from Jordan to Pulaski Pike might be a little rough, but it looked to be in better shape than Madison Pike near the Royal Pines apartments!

Maybe this section of Oakwood is *not* on the next repaving list?

Try driving on Oakwood Ave. going East from Maysville road if you want to see potholes and patches that are crumbling, just about have to be a race car driver to avoid them !
