Thank you for reporting your concern to City of Cambridge via Commonwealth Connect. We have reviewed the information you provided our staff and will be investigating this issue further.

There are both pavement markings and lane configuration signs indicating that in the current configuration you may legally turn left or proceed straight from the center SB lane. There does not exist an approved traffic signal indication that combines a straight indication and a left turn indication in the same lens. However, we are aware that the current configuration can cause confusion and frustration, and are currently evaluating this intersection to determine if geometric or signal timing changes can be made to resolve this issue.
