There's a big oak tree in front of my house that really needs trimming. Branch limbs stretch over my roof.
The city shouldn't wait until there is a problem -- or damage done to this resident's house-- to take care of its responsibilities.
You were not home, so a hand deliverd letter was left explaining that the tree does not belong to the city,but rather it is a state tree. Thank You
No this issue isn't solved. We were told that this is a State tree and the powers that be doesn't thin it needs any attention.

Does anyone know who to contact regarding removal /trimming of trees on state owned roads?
No the tree has not been trimmed.
