Description
I am concerned that a nature preserve appears to have Phragmites australensis, a highly invasive marsh grass (attached file photo taken in the fall), taking over the area on one bank and a huge thicket of Japanese bamboo on the other bank (no photos of this one, but you will clearly see it when you are here). Please identify and eradicate plant invaders in this nature preserve, and respond with positive identification of these plants. Thank you.

Thanks for reporting this issue. You are right that there is a lot of phragmites on this site and many others in coastal New Haven. I wish it were easier to remove or that we had the capacity to do so and continue to maintain the site afterwards. Unfortunately, given the pervasiveness of this plant all over coastal New Haven, we simply don't have the resources to remove it.
