Description
The mechanic at state and Lawrence has turned state street into a used car lot.
Public officials promised this would be monitored when the zoning exception was granted but nothing has been done.
Jessica Holmes, can you help?

I noticed the same. It started out as 3/4 cars, but it seems lately it has been getting bigger. I think he needs a reminder of what he promised the city zoning officials. The owner is a good guy. It may be a fact that it is just too tempting not to use the de facto dead end street.

Why would anyone complain about the used car lot on State St.,while the whole area there looks abandoned and deserted??? The person who runs that garage has had a very difficult time just trying to make a living since there is no more business due to the bridge closing.Think about how you would handle trying to pay your bills because no one considered how it would effect the enormous loss of business caused by rerouting 6000 cars a day from that area.I can't understand how anyone would try to hurt someone trying to become successful ,struggling every day,to make a living.

Concerned Guest,
I resent your comment. One building looks desserted and the rest of the neighborhood looks great. How do you think the folks who live on Mechanic Street or go to Rice Pot or Mezcal feel. That is not a parking lot and it's selfish to treat it that way.

there are only three houses on Mill River St.,The rest of the area on State St.From the bridge to Lawrence St<other than the Skating Rink.which has it's own area for parking, does not hinder or obstruct,or cause any hardship to anyone, except those who would be mean enough to try to make life more difficult for someone who is trying to make an honest living, which ,because of the bridge shutdown,is very frustrating, not to mention the fact that he has lost all opportunity to operate his business, and might become another victim of the millions of people who have to go on welfare through no fault of his own.I wonder how these nice people would feel if it happened to them???

Just thought you mifgt want to know, the man that rents the service station is in the hospital with cancer. He has been there for over a month, and luckily,he has friends who are donating thier expertise and time to keep the garage running until he gets well,or has to cease running his business. With this in mind,I hope you will show some compassion, and lget off his case.////

One of the employees has cleaned up the lot substantially.
