Description
Somebody took a dump at the western entrance to the greenway tunnel under Rock Quarry Road. I say somebody, because they left a filthy cloth used for wiping. Sadly, this is the second appearance of feces at this location. The first instance was washed away in the recent flooding. I also suspect this poopetrator, as I shall refer to him/her, as being the same individual who left a feces pile at the western entrance of the State St greenway tunnel. This was also washed away in the recent flooding.
There is also a fresh pile of dog poop about 300 ft to the west of the western tunnel entrance at Raleigh Blvd. It would be great for this to be cleaned up as well.
Is there any chance that more police bicycle patrols could be routed through the southeastern section of the walnut creek trail? I have yet to see an officer on a bicycle, and I've been using this route weekly since late November of 2014. Ensuring that the trail gets utilized for its intended purposes and not as a repository for human & pet feces would really be appreciated!

The City has over 100 miles of greenway. As you can imagine that would be very difficult to patrol with police on a regular basis given the sheer amount of mileage and our limited resources.
We do have a greenway volunteer program that has volunteers out on trails. We encourage you to visit their site and sign up to help. http://www.raleighnc.gov/content/Police/Documents/Greenway-Volunteer-brochure.pdf
