Description
I just drove down Bright Street and can that a lot the Potholes have been patched. But quite a few got missed. I've seen this before when I have reported Potholes here SCF, where the guys patching the Potholes show up the address left for that issue but don't see one 2 doors down. Maybe a Pothole Sniffing Dog could help them find the Potholes they seem not to be able to See. Do these crew get any supervision or do the supervisor just stay in the office.

My husband used to work for the City of Waterbury. If someone called in for a pothole, they were asked for a specific address. The dispatcher, by order of the Street Superintendent, would only order that one address to be addressed, not to look for more. My husband, and a few of his co-workers felt this was a mistake and would call in the other addresses themselves. Usually they would get in trouble for this by going "above their pay grade". They kept doing it anyway, or at least my husband and his closest friends did. He liked things to be done right, and didn't mind a fight. I don't know how the City of New Haven handles these issues. The departments are different. Waterbury has or had a street department that was part of public works. Here, public works seems to handle everything, There is a meeting tonight I am attaching the flyer. Go make your voices heard.
Dear folks:
You all recently signed up for Work Groups on the City Transformation Plan and due to overload no one has gotten back to you yet -- sorry about that.
We are in full mobilization for the Community Expo Tues 7/28 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Beecher School. I hope you have already heard about it ( see attached flyer).
So if you could help out between now and Tuesday and even at the event that would be great.
The main thing is to make sure we get a good turnout. So if you could reach out to friends to get them to come that would be a start. If each of you came and brought 3 people, that would be huge. Send the attached around too.
Also please ply your social media friends and networks using the links below.
It will be an awesome event.
If you could possibly help AT the event please sign up here at this link.
Stay tuned to the emails and please stay involved and committed-- we look forward to having you involved going forward.
