Description
Due to construction the intersection of 4th and Broadway and Prince Street is a blind one. Yesterday it was complete gridlock. Neither pedestrians or motorists can see where they are going. An accident is inevitable if something isn't done.

Not only is this a blind intersection, but the stop sign on Westbound Prince st. was removed, so now the intersection is very hazardous. And, still no painted crosswalks! Please fix!

This intersection has a traffic light now. Does that resolve the problem?

It's true that the intersection is much better now that there is a traffic light. Thank you! However, here is another problem: the traffic light is on default to be green for traffic on Broadway, and only turns red when a car approaches on Prince or 4th, or a pedestrian wanting to cross Broadway presses the walk button. It seems to take a very long time (2 minutes?) for the light to change to green for Prince/4th, and often pedestrians don't bother to wait, and sometimes cars are not bothering to wait, even for left turns! Since the trains won't be running for another 16 months, can we reduce the delay on activating that walk signal?

Sosan, was it still 2 minutes when you pressed the walk buttons? If so, what time of day was it? I tried them all a few times this morning a little after 10:00 am, and as soon as I pushed one of the walk buttons it started a 12-second timer to get to a green light.

True confession? I didn't actual time it, but I know it was more than 12 seconds. The times of day I would usually be walking are 8 am and between 5 - 6 pm. The last time I tried the timer was probably Sunday around 7:45 am. I pushed the timer, waited a few seconds, crossed on the red, and I was half-way down 4th St. towards Wall and it was still red.

Maybe they have them programmed differently for different times of the day. I'll try it again tonight when I'm on my way home, and maybe you can try it again this weekend. I forwarded your comment to public works, so they might be taking a look at it as well.
