Grates these days have no character. Back in my day we'd never leave so many grates in such poor condition. This is true both structurally and aesthetically. Please update grates with style.

The Dept. has an active inventory of grates needing replacement (15) and we're meeting to discuss strategies to fund the required investment. In terms of making them safe, we will go around and fill any significant holes with stone or mulch and monitor.

Thanks for your attention. But I feel I may have mispoke. An ornate grate would make me irate!! Please use your limited budget to make bike lanes more safe instead.
