Description
Last night all of the nearby racks, street signs and parking meters were being used for bike parking, causing spillover onto some inappropriate places (see photo). More bike parking would be appreciated. One possibility is to convert one parking space to a bike corral.

I'm going to suggest that you look into this by locating a spot that is not designated for metered parking and not designated as a loading zone. That would be your best bet in getting an on-street bike corral installed.
Aside from that, addtional bike racks on city sidewalks is an option, as long as there is enough clearance for pedestrians.
Also - requesting bike racks to be installed on Yale property - as posted below
Department of Transportation, Traffic and Parking
The department does provide the option to request bicycle racks for installation on sidewalks, as long as there is enough clearance for pedestrians. You can request a rack by following the link below:

cychiatrist: Particularly given the fact that 16 bikes can fit in the space taken up by one vehicle, having a space that is convenient to parking users and possibly integrated with a pedestrian traffic calming system (e.g., with bollards, as shown in some of the other examples) should be the priority for location selection, as it would be the most economical to create and provide the greatest boost to local businesses.

Livable: I agree.
