Description

Two or three summers ago East Rock Rd received a much needed resurfacing. It was smooth, went curb to curb, and offered smooth access to driveways. For some mysterious reasons, a few months later, the city gouged out the surface, one layer in the middle of the road, and much more deeply at the gutter. Consequently, when I drove a small car with low clearance I damaged the underside of the front end, and thereafter had to park on the street. About a year after destroying the surface, the city came back and put a little asphalt in front of each driveway on the street. As you can see, that bandaid fix didn't last long. In fact, I'm seeing stone paving which must date back to the late 19th or early 20th century peeking through. I would really appreciate it if the city did not let another summer come and go without repairing the damage they did to my steet.
