The homeless encampment is literally in view from the courtyard. School is currently in session.

Unacceptable. The homeless do as they please, where they please and it needs to stop. A huge lot somewhere, where they all can be, with potty rooms and trash cans is what they need. Stop letting the homeless run the city. Just because they are homeless doesn't mean they're exempt from the laws.

For what it's worth, I just FW'd this to CM Guillen (his websites do not list any staff members; he does have them, yes?) :-o

Unacceptable, city of Oakland. No way should they homeless be allowed near any school or park, where there are kids. They have no business there. Please clear them out asap, today maybe.

I know this is a stupid question but why is this litter encrusted hovel still there. 15 days and counting.

Cause the city leaders are asleep or PW is . Even setting up outside a high school is allowed. No shame...

I was just informed by OPD Sgt. Doug Keely that the encampment was removed today; HUGE THANK YOU for his help 'nudging' appropriately, to get this accomplished! OPD + DPW, despite staffing and funding challenges, have my appreciation and gratitude! THANK YOU, and please close this issue!
