As stated in the original reported issue, how can the city council shut them downtown and let them reopen in our backyard. Prior to their opening we were able to enjoy our back deck but since the multiple
gunshots heard we feel it's unsafe to enjoy our back deck.

Formally known as BODI, which the city council shut down, now known as Luc lounge....they've been open less than 3 months and there have been hundreds of calls to the police. City of Raleigh, how many arrests have been made in connection with this club and does someone have to get killed again to get them shut down?

We have notified RPD on this and they are working on this issue. Please do not be discouraged by the time it is taking; they are moving forward with this and we will have a report soon.

I hope that the RPD and the city officials will get together on this issue,this has been a long and frustrating process. Here it is 4.30 am on a Sunday morning and yet again I am woken by loud booming music that I can hear inside my home. ???

Is this place a strip club? I have heard that and don't know if it a rumor or not. I wish Southern States or Thompson would buy that property for their cars!! Wonder what the zoning is over there. Don't know if that particular area is now included in the "Design District" or not. I know that Forest Acres is included in the district. It boundary might stop at the creek. All of the clubs in that area are a big problem and should be shut down. Seems like the problems get worse rather than better.

It is definitely a strip club...it also has live acts such as rappers/hip hop artist come in and perform and this is why we hear the loud bass/music/noise inside of our homes. Being that close to our neighborhood is not a good situation,it is a proven fact that this club is a magnet for crime.They have a video posted on you tube for anyone to see...type in key words- MO Beatz/Bread Winner (live at luc lounge -raleigh n.c..Warning explicit language etc. Just from this video I can see possibly several violations.This is what is going on practically in our backyards.

It is 3.30 a.m. on a Friday morning and it sounds like a concert on my front porch. Please...something has to be done about the loud music from the clubs on Paula st.Another 911 phone call.

Will someone from the City PLEASE tell us why this club continues to operate? It is disgraceful to have this type of activity going on in our back yards. Gun shots, strip club, music ALL night long... Would any member of the City Council OR the City Attorney put up with this in their neighborhood? I don't think so. We need a response from someone as to WHY this continues with NO restrictions.

Once again...it's 2.15 am and it sounds like a hip hop concert in my house. Several neighbors have text me and calling 911.

What has the city not deemed this business a PUBLIC NUISANCE? What's it gonna take for the City of Raleigh to do something about it....

After all of this I am still having to call the police at 4.00 am in the morning because of the loud music coming from this club. Yes...the Luc Lounge is still open for business,and how do I know? Because I'm sitting here inside of my home having to listen to there bass music as I type this. This is unbelievable!!!

I have talked with several business along this street, most are frustrated with the Luc Lounge and the mess/trouble it brings. Even some of those businesses frustrated have contracted with the Luc Lounge for parking spots. I'd like to reach out to each business and ask them to IMMEDIATELY END any parking agreement AND to allow tow trucks to enforce a NO PARKING policy. This is very effective between the hours of 3am-5am when ONLY the Luc Lounge is open. To compel the business' to agree to this I will need help of local residents who are willing to State/Sign a petition stating they don't want local shops to provide parking to the Luc Lounge and doing so will make them reconsider doing business with that shop. I will also be taking the new stories of the TWO raids and many arrests, the shooting, stabbings, and death that occurred all involving the Luc Loung since it opened.
If a business owners sees this information and then choose to accept the small amounts of money for parking, then they obviously don't care about this neighborhood and they will not ever get my business.
Is there someone in the neighborhood who would help me assembly names of supporters for this?

When you call 911 and talk to dispatch (Justin Cole) you want to feel as though they are on your side/there for you rather than make you feel as though you are a nuisance/bother.
It's 430am, why can't dispatch have some compassion for me and our neighborhood?

City Council, please address their ongoing noise ordinances, you shut them down when they were
located on West Street, please tell our neighborhood why you allowed them to reopen in the Forest Acres/Five Points Area.

Maybe if we elect new leadership for Mayor AND City Council, something will get done!!!! The City Attornry should be included also... The property owner should move them from his/her property. NOTHING good EVER happens after midnight!! And furthermore I thought we were told to call 911.

The Luc Lounge has resorted to opening up to teenagers now,the club will open at 9 and close around 12.00 clean up and then open again from 1.00 am to 6.00 am for the regular over 21 crowd. Long lines of kids 15,16,17,18 can be seen outside the club on the weekend. This guy will do anything for a buck. By the way...I have emailed and called the city attorney Tom McCormick several times and have never received a call or email in return. Our city officials hard at work.

I know this is an old issue, but the story for Club Bodi on West street was only temporarily on hold after the liquor licence was revoked. The property is now known as Club Venu and operates as a BYOB after-hours nightclub from 1:30 am "until," which means they close whenever they feel like it. Several residential neighborhoods a full 0.2 mile away from the club can hear the music in their bedrooms (with white noise machines!) until 6:00 am. We feel your pain.

The city needs to re-evaluate its noise ordinance rules for businesses that repeatedly negatively impact residents. If a business repeatedly violates the ordinance more than a certain number of times with absolute disdain for the community, they should not be allowed to operate any similar type of business in the city, period.

I heard about VENU several months ago before it opened and informed officials. We have been dealing with this problem for years in our neighborhood, 4 court dates,3 city council meetings with another scheduled, signed petitions ,countess meetings with city officials...and nothing! As of last night I was up until 5.00 am having to listen to club music that I could hear inside of my home. We will be dealing with it again tonight from 11.00 pm til 5.00 am. The city of Raleigh officials have to realize that the residents that are complaining and dealing with this problem are sick and tired of excuses. This is a real and serious problem,it affects your sleep,your family lifestyle, it causes stress,anxiety and overall an unhealthy way to live. This problem is real not made up city officials. Please take control and alleviate this problem for good.

This club advertises on adam4adam and Craigslist for sex, they also have individuals hit people up on Grindr to come over for sex parties with 16 and 17 year olds. They claim the age of consent is 16 so this is legal.

On April 15th 2016 at 8:30 the Raleigh Police Department will be conducting an Arbitration Hearing for 10 noise citations issued to Luc Lounge. The specific dates that will be reviewed are:

What about the Hawg Pen bar on Hodges Street? Today there must have been 100 bikes there. They have been riding up and down Wake Forest Road since 6 p.m. It's not 10 p.m. It's totally obnoxious. Is this allowed under the noise ordinance? I live off Anderson Drive and can hear it. I hate to think how the people in the neighborhood behind those bars must feel.

They were operating for months without a permit. I was told by Revenue Dept they originally applied July 9th but didn't complete the process. Once I called the police to report them they began intimidating me and have threatened to sue me. In a letter they sent me they (foolishly) admit that the cost of meeting safety inspection was too great. So instead they operated and had customers in a building that didn't meet the city's safety and electrical standards. After over 10 warnings, only a video recording compelled the police department to actually write them a citation.

Hello,I do live in the neighborhood behind the Hawg Pen and you are exactly right...it is so obnoxious. This is one of three nightclubs located on Paula st. and Hodges st.that my neighborhood has been been complaining about for some time now. Loud music,loud motorcycles,gunshots etc at all hours of the night coming from these nightclubs and yet nothing from the city of Raleigh. One club is open until 6.00 am and has over 30 noise violations but yet they are still open for business. Several city council meetings, court dates,tickets,citations,fines ,city manager meetings but yet all clubs remain open. As I sit here typing this I hear the bikes and the thumping bass music as I do almost every night in my home, I have to put earplugs in so I can actually sleep,if not I couldn't handle it. As a Raleigh native and business owner I am thoroughly disgusted in the way the city has handled this out of control situation.

Our city councilman is David Cox, right? Why isn't he in the loop? We really need redevelopment on that street... And Creekside also.

I can hear the Hawg Pen bikes again tonight. Not as bad as last week when they were raising money for a young person with a heart tranplant. Do they know that the medical research demonstrates that loud noise is very bad for one's cardiovascular health? At any rate, they are still over there making noise. Hello folks ,as Carol mentioned in an earlier post I am one of the neighbors that is actively pursuing this issue. As I write this at 1.00 am on a Sat . night technically Sunday morning I am having to endure the loud bass music coming in to my home that is being played at the Hawg pen. RPD was called around 11.00 pm but yet the music and loud bikes continue. This is something we deal with in our neighborhood every week. El Tucanazo is open 7 days a week from 10.00 pm to 2.30 am,I could honestly call on that night club because of loud music every night.Hawg pen is open every day of the week but Thursday to Sunday is when they keep longer hours and have live bands,dj's etc and that is why we are all hearing the loud music and bikes. Luc Lounge is only open on Friday and Saturday nights from 1.00 am to 6.00 am,it is now a byob club since 2 A.L.E.raids took their liquor license. They have had approximately 30 noise violations and honesty it should be 130 yet are still open for business.We will hear them pounding away tonite when they wake us up at 4.30 am.Folks,II have said this 100 times before...you need to get involved in your neighborhood! I have been fighting this issue for years with just a handful of neighbors help and gaining very little ground.When the city only hears the voice from a few it is easily ignored. It's very easy to complain among yourselves or post a complaint on a website but it's another story when you actually get on the phone,send an email to a city official for ex: Captain of the RPD,city council members,city attorney's office,city managers office etc. I was actually in a meeting last week where. a representative for one of the clubs tried to make it sound like only 2 or 3 people in our entire neighborhood have an issue with these clubs and the reason why is they are too sensitive to noise.. Yes Carol I have considered moving and so have a couple of other neighbors.This will then be someone else's problem which is a sad thing to say. If this happens...in my eyes justice was never served and the night clubs on Paula st.go on operating illegally and basically just ran me and other neighbors out of our homes. You will have to pick up and move all of your belongings, find another home,family changes etc. You have to ask yourself then. ..is this right? I have to pick up my life and move because the city of Raleigh can't enforce the law in the correct way. Wow...this is what it's come to?

Thank you for this information. I would urge the occupants of the homes most affected by the noise get involved in one of these groups as suggested. Constant posting on SeeClickFix doesn't seem to working to their advantage.

Trash and more trash food trucks on Paula st dont clean up after they leave paper and styrofoam all end up at the end of the street. I cant beleave the city allows this to cotinue. I have ask for help it fell on deaf ears. This is a disgrace to the city. Nobody gives a darn. I will continue to fight this problem.
