Dear Guest, Last night's meeting was well attended and incidentally we reached a community resident with the posted sign. So it was a successful posting. We can't reach everyone with email. We have posted signs for neighborhood meetings this way for 12 years. For example the March 7 zoning meeting was also publicized this way. We take them down after the meetings occur. If you are a resident and happen to see a post dated sign that was missed please help out by taking it down. You can add it to your recycling. We would greatly appreciate your help.
Thanks !

So what you're saying is that the end justifies the means despite the fact that it is illegal to post signs per Philadelphia Code § 10–1201. The fact that you say you have been doing this for 12 years does make your actions right or legal. You are adding to the blight of an area that is already extremely blighted! You do not own the neighborhood, maybe a $300. fine will change your mind and force you to follow the law.
This is crazy. Why Guest, are you putting so much energy into this? We are all trying to do right by our community. I appreciate neighbors putting positive energy into the neighborhood even if it's in the form of illegal temporary signage. Maybe you'll be inclined to inform the vintage furniture vendors of their crime.
Thanks Vlmckown! It's ridiculous that we're worried about signs that encourage community involvement when there are prostitutes, drug dealers and transients who do a lot worse to the neighborhood. Guest, you should concentrate this energy on something more constructive and not just attacking the Community Association!
Guest: perhaps you should identify yourself? I feel you're attacking Sarah unfairly. If we are to grow as a community, your constructive involvement is very much welcomed and appreciated. However, citing City code and being so confrontational is divisive. Do you have a suggestion for another way that the Association could communicate effectively? I'm sure they'd be open to it.
No one is attacking anyone. Someone named Sarah admitted to putting the signs up (and there are still signs up!), hence comments being directed towards her. You need to step back from the ledge Gladys Kravitz, This is a pretty simple situation: Sarah violated the law and that needs to stop.
That's the community spirit, Guest! And attack Sarah in the process. This is a very sad posting. If you would just tell us where the sign is, someone will take it down. It's much easier to whine about them than actually do something!

They are not over-sized, they don't blink, they don't try to sell you something, they are not advertising a legal or illegal business.
If the community association is breaking the law you need to take it up the Philadelphia Police and District Attorney's office.
