Description
City-owned crosswalks along Roosevelt Boulevard's 12 miles need to be cleared. In the summer, the city mows grass on medians, via the Fairmount Park Commission, but completely drops the ball every snowstorm. Now it's even worse.
Pedestrians -- including students, elderly and disabled -- are forced to walk in cross-streets among vehicles. This is an inexcusable hazard created by city negligence, on a road where dozens of pedestrians have been killed in the last decade.
It's about time the city obeyed its own snow removal ordinance and cleared all pedestrian crosswalks along Roosevelt Boulevard.
