I work at Weiss Hospital and I know these individuals who live under the Lawrence and Wilson bridge. They deny shelter pick ups, they are banned from shelters and most importantly they have criminal backgrounds! They should not be living on walkways to the beach! I will be starting a petition soon in hopes of having our 44th Ward fixing this problem. Completely unacceptable!

Last night, 6/2/2015, three homeless people beat up a person walking under the Lawrence bridge. He came into Weiss Hospital ER with with a broken arm and a head injury. The city still has not moved these homeless people!

I hope that person and you called the police to report it. The police need to have 911 calls about this so that they can do something. Unfortunately, the Coalition for the Homeless won a lawsuit that forbid the police from removing the tents. Thus, the police needs more residents to call in issues and make complaints to do anything.
