Description
Is there a pedestrian access plan for the Latham Square construction going on currently along Broadway between 15th and 17th Streets? It looks like the traffic signals and controlled crosswalks at both 15th and 16th Steets have been shut off for now, with the closest controlled crosswalks now a long walking detour between 14th and 17th Streets. It also looks like the construction crews put barriers at the curb ramps at 15th but have not actually closed the crossing to pedestrians. Without the signal on this does become an uncontrolled, pedestrian-priority crossing, where drivers must yield the right of way. Many people are still crossing on foot at both 15th and 16th Streets, so please make sure there is appropriate pedestrian access to ensure their access and safety throughout the construction project.
