i hate to tell you this but it was probably caught by a coyote. I live on rt. 110 below you and my cat got it that way. I hear the coyotes all the time up you way howling in the early morning

I'm very sorry for your loss! ( I'm writing on behalf of Rocky's owner ) ...but let's perhaps think positively? A cat's personality may in fact explain why she is missing. For example, if she is a fearful type of cat she may be hiding close by and possibly return on her own. However, from what I understand this could take up to 10 days or more. On the other hand if she is the outgoing sort of cat she may very well go up to a stranger's home or hide first and then begin to travel.
My point is this; there is always the possibility that Rocky can still be found safe and reunited with her owner.
