Description
I have several groundhogs in my backyard. I cannot go outside as these animals are always there. I was sitting in my yard when they came and were behind my chair. They were fighting each other. I don't know if they are rabid. I called board of health, who referred me to Bergen County Animal rescue, who told me that I would have to call an exterminator as they no longer set traps. Why should I have to pay for animal control? It is the responsibility of the town to make it safe for residents to be able to enjoy their property. There must be a way for the town to control the animals coming from the Meadows. Animals are taking control of the town. The park on River Road is filled with these groundhogs. Population of Meadow animals is growing.

Maybe there is a plant or herb that would distract groundhogs. I am sure the construction on Bergen is displacing these critters. I do not think they are dangerous to humans or pets. They are more afraid of us. I think they are rather cute. Maybe get a bell in your yard or back door. ring it when you see them, they will go away. I have some possums in my yard, They are ugly as all get out, but when I see them, I go the other way. I don't like seeing them at night time. Once I found one sleeping in my garbage. Use mint in the garbage to distract them.
