Description
This intersection is a death-trap for pedestrians - especially families and children, crossing from downtown Westville to the playgrounds and parks around the base of West Rock. There is a pedestrian cross-signal, but cars driving East on Blake Street turn right on Valley (disregarding the No Turn on Red sign), usually at high velocity, and because of the poor visibility around the corner, they don't know if there's a pedestrian crossing Valley until they have already run them over. A speed table or some other remedy MUST be implemented here!

You can request a complete streets project regarding this intersection. To do so, follow this link: http://www.cityofnewhaven.com/TrafficParking/CompleteStreets.asp
In addition to this issue, you can also create a new issue in the Traffic Enforcement category on SCF, to request traffic enforcement. in this area.
Thanks for the post

Reporter R, Paula, and anyone else interested in working on a Complete Streets proposal together with WVRA, please email me at chris.heitmann@westvillect.org. We agree the intersection is unsafe and, while we included it as part of a larger Complete Streets proposal for Valley Street between Blake & Emerson (traffic-calming elements of which will be built this summer), this portion merits its own request at this point.
Re: the Traffic Enforcement category on SCF, I am not seeing that. TT&P, can you clarify how to submit a request?
