Description

There is a 250 ft cottonwood tree on the NW part of a playground belonging to the Fraser Public School although the tree is in Roseville. This tree hasn't been trimmed in over 10 years. The branches of the tree extent at least 100 feet. Anytime a storm hits the area there are branches scattered in the playground and in residence yards. At least 3 times in the past 5 years branches have hit power lines. This tree is a cottonwood and not only does it look like at snowstorm in July these fuzzy things end up in gutters and air conditioner filters. The trunk of the tree has a split leaning to the right indicating it was hit by lightning many years ago. 5 years ago I contacted a Fraser school supervisor and he came out and responded there is nothing wrong with this tree and as long it is still alive nothing will be done. He stated it would cost around $4,000 to cut it down. This Fraser school district has money to add additions to it;s school and install a traffic light in front of the high school so money can't be an issue. Something needs to be done for safety reasons. I am a senior citizen who is tired of cleaning the tree branches out of my yard and having the power go offf because of the branches. The tree again is in Roseville but on Fraser school property.
