Community Development will assign an inspector to check the property for violations of the grass and weed ordinance. This ordinance only requires the cutting of grass or weeds over 8 inches in height and consume an abundance of the yard. We cannot require the trimming of bushes, shrubs, ornamentals, ivy or trees. Community Development’s Inspector has checked this property and will be notifying the owner(s) / occupant(s) that they are in violation of the City's Grass and Weed Ordinance. I am so pleased with the response of our city workers. I am proud to say I'm from the city that cares about community members. I could not believe how fast of a response that was given to this issue and I hope I will have no more problems with my neighbors grass growing uncontrollably.
