Description

Hi! In order to access the sidewalk ramp via wheelchair, wagon, stroller on the east side of Wills Road (along Wills Park) from Wills Lane, I have to actually use the driving lane of Wills Road (which is quite busy) for about 50 yards so that I can then turn across traffic as if I'm turning into the Driveway of the park. This is incredibly dangerous! So many times, I've had a wagon with my two kids and I've tried to jump the curve so I could get on the sidewalk right across from Wills Lane. Twice my wagon has toppled over and my kids fell onto the road. i take my bike with kids in the bike trailer and the same problem is there: Try to jump the curve or take a chance walking/ biking in the middle of the road. The last straw was when my husband was temporarily in a wheel chair. We walked to the park because it's right across from our neighborhood, and we encountered the same problem. There is NO ramp there at all for access so you must actually walk in the middle of the driving lane. Please considering doing something about this. The cars have zero interest in stopping for us in the cross walk so it's only a matter of time before someone is hurt. Thanks!
