Description
The outdoor basketball court (located at NE corner of 18th and Catharine) at this rec center has a hole in its fence and a gate that is missing one of its doors. Even when it had two doors, the gate was rarely if ever locked.
These two issues combine to allow for 24-hour a day access to the court and many use the court all hours of the night, waking neighbors and causing a public nuisance. Cops have been called many times to break up games in the middle of the night and kick people off the court.
Please fix the fence, the gate door, and lock the gate off hours. There is no reason why this court shouldn't have the same hours of access as the rest of the rec center facilities.

This issue remains unresolved. Just in the last two months more than a dozen times it has been noticed that people have been playing basketball anywhere from 11:30pm to as early as 5:30am. Cops have been called many times to kick people off the court. There is no reason why the basketball court cannot be treated like the rest of the rec center property and be locked and unlocked during regular hours. Why is this part of the rec center completely ignored?
Fix the gate, put a lock on it during off hours, and close the holes in the fence.

Why does rest of Marian Anderson Rec Center have signs that state "No trespassing from 10pm to 6am" and yet this basketball court has no such signs?
